Well what a change from last year when we had to nail everything down before it blew away.
We are so lucky to have access to this property - its not often that you get to do dressage on polo grounds!!!
The cone course held no tricks - but you really had to keep moving to cover the large distance and still make the time. Plenty of people showed that it could be done tho'
The marathon course varied from previous years - and I would say for the better - those river metaled tracks make for hard work for my boys, never mind those that are vertically challenged. The obstacles suited all classes - including those who wanted a swim in the water. John - thanks for cleaning down the tractor wash bay - lots were seen going straight there after the marathon to clean the mud off.
What can one say about the CDDA caterers - other than just as well they only do this event or we would all be driving draft horses... the food seemed endless, roast pork with crackle, roast spuds, salad, corned beef.... pav, cakes, jelly..... mmmmm AND then they made lunch for everyone on sunday.
So hats off and a big cheer for CDDA - thanks for an awesome weekend.
Next stop Auckland... see you all there
Alison
