RECOMMENDED GUIDELINES FOR NORTH ISLAND

PRECISION OBSTACLE DRIVING

1. Judges and Stewards

1.1 Dressage. Two judges required.
The scores shown movement by movement on the score sheet plus any errors etc.

1.2 Cones. One judge plus one timekeeper/steward/writer required.

1.3 Marathon Obstacles. A minimum of one judge, who can observe the MO’s and
a separate timekeeper for each MO.

1.4 One steward to co-ordinate the entrants.

2. Competitors Times for Cones.

Competitors must be notified of the Required Time for the Cone Course.

3. Event Timing

3.1 It is very important that competitors are on time and that there is no gap
between competitors.
One entering the ring immediately the previous entry has left.
Approx every 4 minutes.

3.2 Cones, The competitors compete in the order prescribed by the
EVENT MANAGER.
Not all the obstacles need necessarily be pairs of cones, some other elements and obstacles may well be introduced to the Cone course.

3.3 MO’s 1 & 2 are set with a common Start/Finish Gate.
The competitors with or without grooms walk the MO’s.

3.4 The competitors go through the Start/Finish gate, do MO 1 and then through the Start/Finish Gate and do MO 2 without stopping and finish through the Start/Finish Gate.

3.5 Every competitor in each class will do the first two obstacles at which point the
MO’s will be changed to become MO’s 3 and 4. Every competitor with or without groom will then have 10 minutes to walk the new MO’s. and then drive MO’s 3 and 4 in the same manner as MO’s 1 and 2.

3.6 If sufficient space is available it may be possible to erect four separate MO’s.
In that case the MO’s can be driven in the manner prescribed by the
EVENT MANAGER.
