POD North Island Competition

NORTH ISLAND POD COMPETITION
1. To be eligible for the North Island Points Prize Competition competitors must be
members of the N.Z.C.D.S.
2. The North island Points Prize Competition is an Open Height Competition; there are not
any Horse/Pony/Miniature height restrictions, all animals compete together in the same
height class. (subject to 8 below).
3. The North Island POD competition will be run in an OPEN and NOVICE grade
competition.
4. Competitors will be treated as a Horse/Driver combination henceforth referred to as the
competitor.
5. All competitors may choose to commence competing in PODs in the NOVICE grade.
6. A competitor may choose to upgrade at any time from NOVICE to OPEN grade.
7. Once in OPEN grade a competitor remains in OPEN grade. (subject to 10 below)
8. A NOVICE competitor will automatically move into OPEN grade after having won FIVE (5)
First Places overall in Novice Grade in any of the listed competitions, over any period of
time including the North Island POD Championship.
Due to the change in upgrading parameters to OPEN grade from the NOVICE grade all
Novice Grade Competitors will commence the 2008/2009 season with Zero (0) wins of
record.
9. In the case where there are more than Two Competitions in One Event a competitor will
complete the Event in the grade in which they entered.
10. An OPEN grade driver acquiring a horse and the horse is not in OPEN grade then the
driver may choose to move back into NOVICE grade.
11. An OPEN grade driver acquiring a horse already in OPEN grade will remain in OPEN
grade.
12. A competitor moving between grades will retain the point’s acquired in the previous
grade towards the Points Prize Competition for that season.
13. Points towards the Points Prize will be given in each Listed Competition in OPEN or
NOVICE grade as:-
1st. 10 points
2nd. 8 points
3rd. 6 points
4th. 4 points
5th. 2 points
14. For placing in the North Island Prize Competition in both OPEN and NOVICE grade each
competitor will be placed on the accumulated points gained in the best Five (5) Listed
Competitions of those entered by the competitor including the North Island POD
Championships.
