Want to have a crack at a new type of competition to hit the New Zealand driving scene?

COME TRY A ONE HOUR CDE ON FOR SIZE!
A one a hour CDE consists of a very simple dressage test, a 4 - 6km marathon course with 3 or 4 marathon obstacles and a slightly shorter cone course. Its perfect for horses and ponies of all shapes sizes and abilities. Experienced CDE'ers can use these events as a lead up to the CDE season, and others can use them to get out of the house and enjoy what the Waikato Club has to offer. For more information contact myself (Jennifer Weal) or Yvonne Weal (07 8718024). The dressage test is on the website, and you will be fully briefed about the format upon arrival.
EVENT DETAILS
Event is held at Flintoffs property, 342 Happy Valley Road, Te Awamutu on Sunday 13th November, with the marathon obstacles and cone course open at 9.00am, competitors will be taken on a official marathon viewing at 10.30am, Dressage will start at 11.30am.
If you are unable to come drive, we would LOVE for you to come and help steward. If you can come steward contact Yvonne Weal to let her know. Stewards briefing will commence at 11.00am, and you should be off the course by the latest 1.30pm.
I really hope that as a sport competitors get inbehind this new initiative, the Western Bay club held a OHCD last weekend with great success, with a lot of great feedback, which was great.

One Hour Combined Drive
I must say I really enjoyed the one hour CDE at Flintoff's farm yesterday. Well done to Jennifer and the Flintoffs for a wonderful event.
What I particularly liked was the fact you could get the three phases over without taking your horses out of harness. It flowed very well. I felt it was a fantastic way to compress a full event into one day, while still being able to give your horses some decent exercise over the farmland/marathon.
Bring on the one hour combined drive :)
Waikato OHCD
Waikato held their first OHCD on the 13th Nov, with great success. Big thanks to the Flintoffs for organising the course and also a big thanks to the stewards that helped out on the day. For any other clubs that would like to host a OHCD, flick me an email and we will get all the information to you asap.
For those that went along to either the Western Bays or Waikato OHCD, feedback, comments etc is always appreciated.
