NZCDS SEPTEMBER 2020 TRAINING CAMP AND SEMINAR

Final Dates are still being confirmed with the venue (due to prior bookings not yet confirmed) but will be either the Wednesday 16th to the Sunday 20th or the Wednesday 23rd to the Sunday 27th September. 

Venue: Taupo NEC

Costs: 
NEC Camping and Ground Fees: 

                         Ground Fee (per horse, per day): $10

                         Open Yard (per horse, per night): $10

                         Paddock (per horse, per night): $15

                         Covered Yard (per horse, per night): $25

                         Un-Powered Camping (per vehicle, per night): $10

                         Powered Camping (per vehicle, per night): $20

Portacabin Bookings (per cabin, per night): Flat Fee of $50 per night, per cabin, cabins can sleep up to 3. One person to book and pay for the cabin in whole please. Preference will be given to those who are booking for 5 nights.  Please let Jennifer Carew know as soon as possible if you are wanting to reserve a cabin for the duration of the camp. 

House (Sleeps 4 - 6) $150 per night plus $50 cleaning fee

Attendance Fee: 

                          NZCDS Members: $60 for the duration of camp (5days),

                          NZCDS Members Day Rate: $20 per day

                          Non NZCDS Members: $95 for the duration of camp (5 days) (Includes a one year NZCDS membership for those that have not been a NZCDS member prior to now).   

                          Non NZCDS Members Day Rate: $30

Individual Lessons with Coaches

Lessons with coaches (one on one) will be available. Tentative coaches booked in are Yvonne Weal, Samantha McClunie (Van der Sande) and William Fisher. A booking system will be set up on this page, with payment for lessons due during the course of the camp. More information coming soon. 

Vendor - Registration of Interest

As part of the September Camp, we are offering Equestrian Vendors the opportunity to set up a 'shop' with items relating to carriage driving and general equestrian topics. The only costs would be those camping costs for yourselves that are paid to the NEC. The aim is to create a 'mini market' for those new to the sport, to help guide people in the right direction in terms of the right gear, that is fit for NZCDS events purpose, yet financially achievable. The positioning of stalls would be clustered in main camping area, with access to Power if needed. Vendors will be offered a free quarter page advert in the Camp booklet, advertising on the NCZDS website as part of the information for the event and will also receive mentions on the NZCDS facebook page in the lead up to the event.

Expressions of Interest are being taken at this stage - please email jen.c.carew@gmail.com with your EOI and a little about what items you could bring to have for sale. Please indicate if you would need power as well. 

Meals and Contributions to help fuel coaches and workers (catering). 

Participants are asked to donate plates of food to contribute towards fueling our very precious (and very hardworking) coaches.

Breakfast and Lunches will be the responsibility of the individual. 

A dinner schedule is being drafted still, but it will include a range of social dinners that form part of the evening sessions. We are looking at a number of options for these.

Program: 
The program is in the final stages of Draft and will be made available as soon as dates are confirmed. Included are streams for Officials and judges, Novice Drivers,  Experienced Drivers and Level 1 and Level 2 Certificate opportunities. Also included are workshops for the NZCDS, Council Meetings and Committee Meetings. It is going to be an incredibly busy 5 days.  More information coming soon. 

Certification (Drivers and Officials)

Drivers: 
Throughout the camp, Level 1 and 2 certificate assessors will be available to complete your requirements. Please ensure that you make yourself known to the instructors who will be introduced to you on the first morning. 

Officials: 
Firstly, Thank you. There are many of you who have indicated that you would like to finalise your judging status. We are making this possible throughout the course of the weekend. This includes Dressage Judging, Cones Judging, TD and POJ Duties, Course Building (Marathon) and Cones Design and Construction. We appreciate your time, and really do want to make this camp as much about your upskilling as it is about the drivers. Without you, there would be no 'us'.
